PARENTS: THE PATH TO CREATING MORE MEMORIES IS THIS WAY...READ HOW!
Dec 19, 2017 | By: Jean Wozniak
Welcome to 2020 and fresh, new articles all for you, aimed at empowering you with ways to create more memories of your family, pets and children! Don't we always yearn for this? This blog is dedicated to providing informative tips and articles to do just that! Being a portrait photographer, of course a lot will be geared towards how you can use photography as your tool; but my goal is to offer you other things including thought-provoking questions, fun facts, inspirational quotes, and fun and creative ideas.
Don't Forget the Little Things
First up, what comes to mind if I say "Don't forget to capture that?" Is it vacations, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations? All valid and important things to document, but what about the moments in between? What about those fleeting moments that make you smile or melt your heart, like when your child's face is full of curiosity and wonder while reading a book. How about every night when they sit all snuggled up with the family pet, or the silly face they're known to make. You can prompt a reaction and have your camera ready, or better yet, don't let them know you're photographing them at all! Sometimes the best expressions come when you just sit and observe simple moments that unfold. Have that camera always in arm's reach so you don't miss an opportunity!
Even if your camera is not by your side, just sit and observe. Take just 5 minutes out of your day while you're with family, two or four legged, and just observe. Start exercising your mind to see, in more detail, the things you love about them so you can more easily recognize special moments. These are the fun and important memories, the little things, that will bring you pure joy when you look back on them.
The Path Starts Here
It's a new year, a perfect time...join me and lets start down this path of creative thinking and awareness. Without photographs, memories fade. I believe that so completely that I chose to be a photographic portrait artist, dedicated to helping families and pet owners create heirloom portrait memories. The big events will stand out longer in your mind, but it's these simple, subtle moments that will more quickly be forgotten. While a professional photographer makes sense for certain milestones or events, let's face it, you're not going to have them there by your side 24/7. Therefore, it's up to you to make sure these special moments are always remembered. Your family and future self will thank you for it!
